We are pleased to announce the publication of the Proceedings of the Faculty of Security Studies, dedicated to the Fourth Memorial Scientific and Professional Conference “Predrag Marić”, held under the theme Modern Integrated Disaster Risk Management (https://proceedings.fb.bg.ac.rs/index.php/abstracts/issue/view/1).
This conference is jointly organized by the Faculty of Security, University of Belgrade, the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and the Institute for International Politics and Economics, with the aim of strengthening national and local capacities in disaster preparedness, mitigation, response, recovery, and community resilience through scientific and professional dialogue.
The memorial conference honors the legacy of Police General Predrag Marić, whose institutional and professional contributions were instrumental in shaping the modern disaster risk reduction system in the Republic of Serbia. His vision of a systemic approach that integrates scientific knowledge, normative frameworks, and operational practice serves as the foundation and inspiration of this edition.
The issue presents scholarly contributions addressing contemporary challenges in integrated disaster risk management, emphasizing interdisciplinarity, intersectoral cooperation, and continuity across all phases of the risk management cycle.
