    Call for Papers – Thematic Collection of Papers –

    “The Role of First Responders in Disasters”

    Dear all,

    We have the great honor and pleasure, on behalf of the Scientific-Professional Society for Risk Management in Emergency Situations, to invite all interested researchers, professionals, and students to participate in writing papers for the thematic collection:
    “The Role of Intervention and Rescue Units in Disasters”,
    organized by the Scientific-Professional Society for Risk Management in Emergency Situations and the International Institute for Disaster Research, Belgrade.

    Acknowledging your contribution to the field of emergency studies, we invite you to submit a paper (up to 5 pages) to be published in this thematic collection. Submissions can take the form of review articles, research papers, case studies, analyses, brief communications, etc.

    We particularly encourage students from all faculties and universities to participate in writing papers for this thematic collection.

    Please submit the title of your paper and an abstract in both Serbian and English (up to 250 words) via email to: bojan.jankovic@kpu.edu.rs by no later than March 1, 2025.

    The final deadline for submitting the complete papers is April 1, 2025, also to bojan.jankovic@kpu.edu.rs.

    All submitted papers will undergo impartial and anonymous peer reviews by at least two reviewers from the relevant scientific field. Accepted papers will be published in the thematic collection.

    Papers should be written in Serbian (Latin script, up to 5 pages excluding references) in electronic format, following APA style, using the provided template and guidelines available at the link below the text.

    Publication fee: The publication fee for the collection is 2,500 RSD, payable to the account: 340-11020546-63 Erste Bank.

    Paper topics include:

    • Training of intervention and rescue units (firefighting and rescue units, voluntary fire departments, police, military, mountain rescue services, emergency medical services, private security, etc.) for disaster response;
    • Legal framework for the operation of intervention and rescue services during disasters;
    • Tactics of intervention and rescue units in disasters;
    • Tasks of intervention and rescue units in disasters;
    • Organization of intervention and rescue units in disasters;
    • Preparedness of intervention and rescue units for disaster response.
