The International Journal of Disaster Risk Management is a peer-reviewed journal that is published twice a year. It serves as a comprehensive platform for academics, policymakers, and practitioners to share high-quality research and insights related to all aspects of disaster studies, policy, and management. The journal addresses natural disasters, anthropogenic disasters, complex political emergencies, and crises worldwide. 🌍

The primary objectives of the journal are to facilitate communication, collaboration, and teamwork among professionals and disciplines. This interdisciplinary approach aims to prevent or limit the adverse impacts of hazards, with a focus on sustainable development. We encourage the exchange of ideas and experiences to decrease the risk of disasters and enhance community resilience within the framework of sustainable development and planetary boundaries. 🌱

IJDRM is a double-blind peer-reviewed (twice a year), open-access, international journal, serving all aspects of disaster studies, policy, and management. It provides a platform for academics, policymakers, and practitioners to publish high-quality research and practice concerning a wide range of disasters and hazards, including:

🔹 Natural disasters and hazards: earthquakes, landslides, volcanic eruptions, floods, hurricanes, tornadoes, blizzards, tsunamis, cyclones, wildfires, pandemics, etc.
🔹 Man-made (anthropogenic) disasters: civil disorder, terrorism, war, biological/chemical threats, cyber-attacks, hazardous materials, industrial accidents, technological failures, etc.
🔹 Complex political emergencies and global crises.

Our journal will comprehensively cover all facets of disaster risk management from a global perspective, including but not limited to:

🔹 Disaster and crisis management theory and practice,
🔹 Risk awareness and assessment,
🔹 Hazard and vulnerability analysis,
🔹 Knowledge development, encompassing education, training, research, and information on disasters,
🔹 Public commitment and institutional frameworks, including organizational, policy, legislation, and community action,
🔹 Disaster prevention, mitigation, response, recovery planning, policies, and implementation.

Moreover, we aim to facilitate the exchange of ideas among practitioners, policymakers, and academics, fostering collaboration and innovation in the field of disaster risk management. 💡
